For Eyeliner:

  1. Lash Growth Serum. We cannot tattoo your eyeliner if you have ever used Latisse or RF Lash Boost. It changes your eyelid skin and you will be in excruciating pain the entire session. Grande Lash, Babe Lash, and a few other brands we may consider if you have been off the minimum 12 months. We will start with lash enhancement eyeliner style at your first session.

  2. Skincare : This is key. If you are using anything with any anti-ageing claims then you must discontinue it.

This is a non-exhaustive list of ingredients you must discontinue for 6 weeks : Retinol, Vitamin A Palmitate, Retinal, Retinoic Acid, bakuchiol, Tretinoin, retinyl palmitate, retinaldehyde, isotretinoin, adapalene, tazarotene, alitretinoin, and bexarotene, alpha Hydroxy acids, AHA, glycolic acid and lactic acid, hydroxycaprylic acid, and hydroxycapric acid.

This is not a FULL List and cosmetic ingredients go by many name and change all the time.

These ingredients are often hidden in the ingredients list. These products are extremely effective when used anywhere on the face, and they physically change the skin and make it so that the skin will be more inflamed, more painful, bad healing, and poor color retention. You will end up paying for more sessions out of pocket.

  3. Because your skincare does affect the healing and the outcome, please be 10000% honest about listing every single product you use, even occasionally, even once or twice a month, even if it’s a prescription. You will be asked about the Brand and the actual product name when scheduling. If in doubt, text 443-228-8617 and we can discuss what you are currently using.

  4. You may resume using the other skincare products again 6 weeks after your last appointment.

  5. Botox : You need a 2 week buffer, before or after your eyeliner appointment to let the muscles settle after Botox, Dysport, or any other forehead wrinkle-relaxing neuromodulator injections.

  6. Do not use longwear or waterproof eyeliner or waterproof mascara for 2 Weeks Before. These products create a film on the skin and make it so that the skin will be more inflamed, painful, bad healing, and poor color retention.

  7. No eye cream skin care products. Do not use them for 4 weeks prior to your appointment. Do not resume use until 4 weeks after your second session.

  8. No Eyelash Extensions. You must have had them removed 2 weeks prior to your appointment.

  9. Contacts : Please do not wear contacts to your appointment. Wear your glasses. You’ll be wearing your glasses for a minimum of 5 days after each appointment.

  10. No Makeup at all the day of. Only moisturizer, SPF, and lip balm are permitted.

  11. Alcohol, Over the Counter Pain Medication, Caffeine, Omega-3 (Fish oil) : You must not consume these for 72 hours prior to your appointment or you risk extreme pain, swelling, bleeding, bruising, poor color retention, color migration or ink blowouts.

12. Eyelid Vascularity : Does your eyelid look like mine? Then you can have Lash Enhancement Eyeliner top and/or bottom but any thicker will be torture for you and for me, and you risk major healing and color retention loss plus migration or blowout. We are not candidates for Classic or Foxy Style eyeliner.

13. Milia : If you have Milia (skin colored raised spots) or any lesions on the eyelid skin in the area we will be tattooing, we will not be able to perform your session. We cannot tattoo over any bumps, spots, raised freckles, cherry angiomas, milia, skin tags, cholesterol deposits etc.

If in doubt, send clear NO MAKEUP photos to 443-878-2654 to discuss. You’ll need a doctor’s clearance and safe removal plus time to heal after the removal before coming to see us for permanent eyeliner.

14. Regarding Wings and Styles : If you have a hooded eyelid, I do not recommend a wing. I can do wings out as far as is responsible, but I don’t do them farther out than the first crease in the eyelid. If you have questions about what your natural anatomy can allow, please feel free to text super clear photos and we can talk about the possibilities. 443-228-8617

15. And finally, please keep in mind that I work as quickly and efficiently as possible to minimize discomfort. You will need to be mentally prepared for eyeliner. I do use as much numbing product as possible, but the permanent eyeliner procedure does activate your natural Fight or Flight response. Eyeliner pain on a scale of 1-10 (10 being highest) can range anywhere from a weird tickle scratch (eyelash enhancement), up to a sustained 6-8 for more sensitive clients who desire larger or thicker styles.

TL/DR recap : For eyeliner your prep work ahead of time will determine your comfort level and how well the color retains. Follow the above steps to make your appointment go smoothly and have a desirable outcome. Text 443-878-2654 with any questions.

For Lip Blush or Darker Lip Neutralization

  1. Exfoliate nightly for 1 week. I use a damp toothbrush.

  2. Before your appointment for 1 week : Hydrate 5 times per day with a slippery, emollient lip balm - Vaseline, Aquaphor etc. Nothing hard or waxy like Carmex or Chapstick.

  3. If you have a history of cold sores 9(even if it was +10 years ago), this Lip Blush Tattoo process will cause one or more to pop up. You must be taking your anti-viral RX for at least 3 days before, the day of, and 3 days after each of your Lip Blush or Lip Neutralization appointment. If you have no history of Cold Sores, the virus can still pop up a sore because it may lie dormant in your system. 67% of the human population has the Herpes Simplex I and a lot of folks don’t know they have it. Lip Blush cannot GIVE you HSV-1 but it can cause enough stress on your system to cause the dormant virus to awaken. You can always discuss prophylactic treatment with your health care provider if you so choose.

  4. Do not use strong waterproof liquid Matte lipsticks or lip stains until 6 weeks after your final appointment. Avoid using them for 2 weeks before any annual touchups as well.

  5. You must change your disposable mask 3 times a day minimum for the first 5-7 days. You should consider these masks as wound dressing and only use a fresh, new, disposable mask each time. Do not use a washable reusable mask until day 6, minimum. Have these available before your appointment.

  6. Skincare : This is key. If you are using anything with any anti-ageing claims then you must discontinue it.
