Be gentle when washing - Permanent Makeup is a Tattoo and it is an open wound for the first few days. You must be soft when washing and rinsing.
Wash your hands before your even consider touching your face. Don’t touch or cleanse until you have washed your hands.
Avoid getting your face wet in the shower. Just keep your face out of the stream of water. Wash your body first then wash you hair with your head tilted back. Don’t wash the rest of your face in the shower. Blot you face gently with a clean unused towel after your shower.
Remove your face makeup with makeup remover and wash the rest of your face by rubbing in your cleaner, avoid the eyebrows, and then wipe off your cleanser with a damn cloth. You must avoid rubbing all of your makeup and debris into your fresh eyebrows.
Do not put any creams or lotions or skincare serums on your fresh eyebrows until after all of the flakes are gone on their own.
If you pick any of the flakes or scabs, or if they get soggy from the shower or being sweaty and they get dislodged too soon, you will be taking ink out of the tattoo and your eyebrows will heal patchy. You may also actually damage the skin itself.
You can use hydrating skincare again on your eyebrows once all of the scabbing is gone.
Do not use any skincare that contains active anti-aging ingredients (Retinol, Glycolic acids, Retinyl, Retin-A, Differin, Vitaminc C, Lactic Acids etc.) above the cheekbones until AFTER your touchup is healed. After the touchup is healed (4 weeks) then you can use these products above the cheekbones but please do not apply them directly to the healed permanent makeup. They can prematurely fade and lighten them.
Blotting gently the first 24 hours is one of the most important. Dampen a cotton round pad with cool water and press gently on your brows to soak up any fluid. This prevents a thick chunky scab from forming. Thick scab = less color retained.
Your fresh brows are susceptible to sunburns and sun damage regardless of your skin tone. Avoid the sun if possible the first 7 days, but if you must be outside then please wear a hat with a brim to protect them. After all the flaking is finished, please know that they are still vulnerable and wear sunblock and a hat with a brim if possible.
Daily sunscreen or sunblock is important to maintain your investment. The more sun the Permanent Makeup receives, the more likely they are to color shift, fade faster, or fade patchy. SPF in your makeup or moisturizer is not enough. A separate 30SPF or higher is recommended. This is daily. Not just when you go to the beach or the pool.
Use less healing lotion than you think. The size of a head of a pin. You shouldn’t see much lotion at all once applied. Less is more.
No contacts or eye makeup for 7 days.
Don’t freak out about the size - they are twice as large and darker after first.
Use a damp cotton pad morning and night to gently cleanse. No soap.
Avoid getting your face wet in the shower.
Wash the rest of your face separately and avoid your eyes. Wipe off cleanser with a damp cloth.
You may wake up with slightly puffy eyes or even slight bruising for the next few days. This should be done by day 5.
If you choose to use eyelash growth serum, please note that we can’t predict how it will affect your healed eyeliner and you will have to discontinue use 3 months before any touchups.
No eyelash extensions until 4 weeks after the touchup appointment.
Your lips will lightly weep fluid for the first 24-48 hours after your appointment. Do not allow this fluid to dry down. It must be gently blotted away with cold water on damp cotton pads. Apply lip ointment generously after each time you blot.
Your lips will most likely remain noticeably swollen for 2-3 days after your appointment. This swelling is temporary. Lips with filler will have even more pronounced temporary swelling.
Lip Neutralization of naturally darker lips will go through a cycle of temporarily looking much darker for the first 4-8 weeks. This is a normal part of healing. Please allow the full 8-10 weeks to heal. Lip Neutralization may take 3-4 sessions which are 8-10 weeks apart before satisfactory results are achieved. You must be patient during this process. The naturally occurring melanin doesn’t disappear or leave, so after 12-18 months you may begin to see your natural lip color coming through as the tattoo fades. You may consider an annual touchup appointment at this time. Your healing process will be the same as the first time, however it will usually only need 1 or 2 touchup appointments.
You must MUST change your mask 3 times a day minimum for the first 5-7 days. You should consider these masks as wound dressing and only use a fresh, new, disposable mask each time. Do NOT use a washable reusable mask until day 7, minimum. If there is still any flaking, please use the disposable masks. The most amount of time without a mask is preferable if possible (but still please be thoughtful of others and do still wear a mask as needed in public.)
If you have a history of cold sores, this process will absolutely cause one or more to pop up. You must be taking your anti-viral RX for at least 3 days before and at least 3 days after your Lip Blush or Lip Neutralization appointment. If you have no history of Cold Sores, the virus can still pop up a sore because it lies dormant in your system. 67% of the human population has the Herpes Simplex I and a lot of folks don’t know they have it. Lip Blush cannot GIVE you HSV-1 but it can cause enough stress on your system to cause the dormant virus to awaken. You can always discuss prophylactic treatment with your health care provider if you so choose.
If you run out of the provided lip balm, Aquaphor is an excellent stand-in. Continue to keep your lips moisturized and hydrated between each appointment.
Do not exfoliate or scrub your lips until week 4.
Do not use strong waterproof liquid Matte lipsticks or lip stains until 6 weeks after your final appointment. Avoid using them for 2 weeks before any annual touchups as well.
